Other local groups

The Worcester Group has been meeting regularly for the last couple of years and currently organises very successful walks on the 1st Sunday of each month.  The next walk will be on Sunday, September 5th. Details as follows :

11.00 am start from the New Inn at Storridge WR13 5HB.
The walk will be about 6miles with some hills.
There will be meadows, moorland and woodland with great views of the Malverns
and surrounding area.
We'll be stopping for a picnic lunch.

The New Inn is on the A4103 Worcester to Hereford road.
From Worcester on the A4103 go through Leigh Sinton and then the
New Inn is a mile further on the right.
Just North of Great Malvern.
Dogs welcome.

The Evesham Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Falcon which is part of the Northwick Best Western Hotel on Waterside. If you would like more details please e-mail us and we can put you in touch with the organisers.

Online Social Networking

The Malvern Group has its own private social networking site which is available only to members of the Group. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and find out what’s happening in and around Malvern.

Gay Switchboard Birmingham

Our nearest Gay Switchboard is in Birmingham and can be reached on 0845 257 8255 or at http://www.switchboardwm.org.uk/

The main focus of their service is the telephone helpline which operates between 7pm and 10pm every night of the year. They act as a source of information, support and referral for any issue relaOlder Lesbians Networkting to lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans life.

This is a group that meets regularly in Birmingham and focuses on issues and activities which may be paricularly of interest to lesbians who are 45+.  One of the group's coordiators sends the following details :

The Birmingham and West Midlands Older Lesbian Network meet every second Saturday of each month at the HGL offices next to the Loft Lounge in Bromsgrove St. Each meeting starts with a catch up and chat over shared food followed by a led discussion on a pre-arranged topic.
New members are always welcome, just turn up at about one o'clock with food to share which can be anything you fancy bringing. (We have vegetarians and meat eaters and pudding fans so you can't get it wrong!)

For the February meeting we have Caroline Pinney a Wills and Probate Lawyer coming to talk about these things from a Lesbian and from a Civil Partner angle.
The March meeting will be a social gathering and the plan for the April meeting is for Larna from Outskirts to come to talk and discuss with us Trans issues.
The meeting room is fully accessable and everyone is welcome.
